vinyarb- you just have to read it

Many critics have stood up and blasted Transformers 2. And i’ve wondered if its because they are merely trying to score credibility points by blasting one of the most commercial movies ever to be released.

When I saw the various trailers for Transformers 2, I thought to myself “wow…. this looks solid! Much bigger, more explosions… what can go wrong?”

Alas, I didn’t realise what I was in the trailers was literally what went on almost the entire film. Explosions, running, frenetic shouting. For 150 minutes.

In the movie, there was a decepticon character, who’s very existence was so implausible, yet, I didn’t even have the time to think about it until after the show ended. Let’s just say I thought it was a transformers?terminator mashup.  Although the CGI was brilliant, but for most of the show, you couldn’t tell which robot was who and who was dead.

One moment you thought Starscream was dead, the next minute, there he was saying cowardice has its merits (survival).

And the story… I didn’t even know what was going on half the movie, except they had to go to Egypt so we could see transformers fighting against the backdrop of Pyramids, and destroying one of the great wonders.

Best part of the movie? Megan fox running in slo-mo.
