The ClimateGate scandal may have given global warming sceptics something to shout about, but it still doesn't move us away from the fact that humans are wasting and abusing our natural resources at an alarming rate.

Earth has provided a solid home for us for the past 200,000 years, while being in existence for roughly 4.5billion years (with the first sign of organic life estimated at 3.8billion years ago).

With that in perspective, we really seem to be the noisy and unwelcome new tenants raiding a peaceful village that had been living in harmony for eons prior.

Regardless of climate change being the result of human activity or a naturally ageing (interesting side-topic: do you prefer to use aging or ageing?) Earth, what's wrong with wanting to treat our home better?
