Yup, before we go any further, let's all say the title 5 times in quick succesion. Ok, cheap thrill's over. io9 reports that there could very well be a sea full of diamonds on Neptune and Uranus. Scientists have been studying their strange magnetic fields and high carbon makeup, and came to a hypothesis of diamond seas. Not only are there seas of diamonds, as the atmospheric mix stabilises, chunks of solid diamond appeared on the surface, akin to floating sheets of ice. Imagine an iceberg of diamond! Before you ladies go booking shuttle flights to these 2 exotic locales, I should warn you that the pressure (i assume affects gravity) at Neptune is about 11 million times that of Earth, not to mention slightly warm temperatures of up to 50,000 degrees. But there's nothing against hoping the Uranians won't send cooled diamonds hurtling our way!
