we solved LOST Print E-mail

I say:

rotten tomatoes gives triangle 81%

Riley Kim says:

high

I say:

and timecrimes 88%

Riley Kim says:

it's the tension

Riley Kim says:

and quite scary

I say:

overall plot, timecrimes stronger

Riley Kim says:

but timecrimes "repeated" how many times

Riley Kim says:

yah - the plot for triangle is actually very short - just that the overlapping makes it scary

I say:

from what we see of the protagonist, 3 times

Riley Kim says:

triangle is different - as in it seems she cannot resolve

I say:

ya, she goes back all the way to the start

Riley Kim says:

u think she did liao, but just turns out alternative before her already did exactly that

I say:

but dunno how come she cant seem to remember the events at the ship

I say:

but... she remembers enough to say sorry to the dude

Riley Kim says:

plothole

Riley Kim says:

timecrimes can resolve?

I say:

timecrimes also cannot resolve

I say:

but timecrimes, cant spot any plothole

I say:

for triangle, the devaju not explained...

I say:

unless implied the weird storm caused it

Riley Kim says:

me thinks so

Riley Kim says:

it's the ship

Riley Kim says:

and the storm

I say:

but... given that timecrimes came out earlier (2007)

I say:

and has tighter plot

I say:

timecrimes win

Riley Kim says:

hhahhhaha

Riley Kim says:

as by this logic,

Riley Kim says:

if Lost closes well

Riley Kim says:

all other TV shows that touches any timetravel can go and die

I say:

ya

I say:

scarly lost goes the way of triangle and timecrimes

Riley Kim says:

then how

I say:

we are already seeing 2 jacks/sawyers/kates

Riley Kim says:

how to grade

Riley Kim says:

yah

Riley Kim says:

i suspect maybe they have to die

Riley Kim says:

like juliet died-ed then told sawyer it worked

I say:

maybe they already died... remember adam and eve in the caves

Riley Kim says:

oh yah

Riley Kim says:

then it's loop

I say:

ya

Riley Kim says:

triangle liao

Riley Kim says:

we solved it

I say:

so we already know the end

Riley Kim says:

we won

I say:

hahaahhahahha

I say:

email damon and carlton

Riley Kim says:

just by watching the season premiere we solved it in two days

Riley Kim says:

we are awesome

I say:

lol

I say:

this conversation is a must-blog

Riley Kim says:

we either write awesome The Copier Room, create startups like 5circles, or solve the ending of Lost

Riley Kim says:

all while you blogging and me checking out footballers' gossip

I say:

how we're not millionaires yet baffles me

Riley Kim says:

we haven't resolve that one

Riley Kim says:

we are efficient, man!

If you have no idea what we're talking about, or wish to know more about our ultimate theory of LOST, go watch the british film "Triangle" or Spanish flick "Timecrimes". Better yet, watch BOTH!

LOST S6E1-2 - LA X Print E-mail

LOST is back. Finally, after such a long wait, we're treated to an hour of recap, followed by a 2 hour premiere of the final season of LOST.

And it is so awesome I wouldn't know where to begin talking about it. And as always with LOST, we're back with a double dose of that oh so familiar feeling of "err.. what?" followed instantly with "WTF!?"

The premiere brings back fond memories of the pilot with a strong sense of dejavu, yet also spinning away from the narrative direction of the past 5 seasons in an awesome reset/multiverse/alt arc.

As usual, we leave the episodes with more questions than answers (and they say they're already in answer-mode) and I really hope they can answer the most important ones when the end is here!

They say a picture paints a thousand words, so, here's my collection of wtf moments kodak-ed for your dissection!

Warning: Extreme spoilerific pictures ahead... so unless you've seen the premiere, DO NOT BOARD.

What can you do with one hand? Print E-mail

There aren't many tv series chronicling the life in advertising. I can understand why. Who wants to watch a bunch of pompous pricks strutting around pitching taglines and creative ideas, only to throw out their prams when it gets rejected?

The chaos and deadlines that seem so important to an adman will not ring well with people holding real, impact-making jobs like doctors and road sweepers.

But i stumbled upon this tv series called "Trust Me", a series that, due to the reason above, was cancelled after only 1 season. The ad agency, Rothman, Greene and Mohr (RGM) is a Chicago based agency that rivals the likes of DDB and BBDO.

In the first episode, they are seen pitching for a 75 million dollar telco account, Arc Mobile. And the CEO of Arc Mobile was taken by an insane off-the-cuff idea pitched by the newly promoted Creative Director, Mason. Topped up by a timely assist by his partner copywriter, Connor, with the tagline "What can you do with one hand?"

In the 2nd episode, the above tagline was tested in a focus group, and revealed to allude to masturbation. So here they go again, scrambling to come up with another tagline. Mason, in desperation, calls Connor for a quick suggestion as the CEO of Arc Mobile was holding on the line. Connor, in the deepest recesses of his mind, mid-thrust with a random woman, came up with the line "Do Thumbthing"

How fucking awesome is that?

First impression is that its a rather funny and interesting series. Too bad it got canned before i even heard about it. Truth is, I'd much rather watch Trust Me than Mad Men. Something about that era just bores me.

The LOST Supper Print E-mail

The countdown to the ultimate season of LOST is underway (2 Feb in the US!), and its such a bittersweet emotion. On the one hand, i'm pining daily for it to return so I can have some meaning in Life.

On the other hand though, I know that once it starts, like a hurricane, it will sweep my feet away, yet will be gone in moments. Forever.

Promos for the final season have shifted up a notch, and the Last Supper depiction above is one of them. And who else but John Locke can take the place of Jesus? He who knowingly sacrificed his life to save the other Losties. Flanking him are eyeland candy Sawyer and Jack.

Interesting to note Claire back in the mix, after having disappeared almost all of season 5. Also, Illana on the far left implies she has a much larger role to play in the upcoming season.

Finally, a stick sticking out of Jack's head... is that a "final destination" like omen? A sign that the whiny doc's finally gonna kick it?

Apart from this amazing poster, there's also a video "Everything you need to know about LOST in 8 mins 15 seconds".

Enjoy.

Lost Season 6 Poster - hieroglyphs decoded Print E-mail
Sunday, 25 October 2009 14:46

lost-final-season-poster1

This is the teaser poster for the last season of LOST, slated for Jan 2010.

Notice the hieroglyphs within the alphabets? Apparently, some lost fan sent the poster to Dr. James Allen, Professor of Egyptology and Ancient Western Studies at Brown University, who came back with the following:

“The hieroglyphs spell out two Egyptian words, meaning ‘Who is the guide?’ or ‘Who is the leader?’”

This is so exciting.
