Strife in war-torn Tampines
While the world was ringing in the new year of 2012, the eastern district of Singapore experienced missile attacks late into the night, as neighbouring districts of Simei and Pasir Ris launched a sudden concerted effort in order to undermine the advanced infrastructure and amenities at the Tampines district.
The attacks followed months of uneasy negotiations between the districts, as Simei and Pasir Ris have always suffered from poor traffic and retail sales due to the popularity of the Tampines district having 3 major shopping malls and 2 cinema chains in operation.
However, it is uncertain why Simei and Pasir Ris have decided to repeatedly launch missiles onto what is currently a derelict piece of land, when the prime shopping areas are merely a mile away.
Perhaps this is just a warning shot, and maybe there’ll be more to come.
Nobody knows for sure, but we’ll definitely pray for the good residents of Tampines.
